Step 7: Wrap-Up

After the event, only a handful of follow-up tasks remain:
  • compile feedback from the Evaluations Forms  and Promising Practices forms
  • review feedback with planning committee and identify best practices and lessons learned to be used in planning for future events
  • pay any outstanding bills for the catering, facility, equipment rental, and suppliers and complete the budget worksheet – use this information for future event planning
  • send all participants a Thank You e-mail or card expressing your appreciation for their participation and interest in mentoring
  • send a thank you note or a small token of appreciation to all of the volunteers and planning committee members for their time, energy, dedication and enthusiasm
  • create a database of contact information so you can stay in touch with participants throughout the year, and to use as a starting point in future event awareness campaigns
